Lompoc Sales Tax, Measure T, February 2008

The City of Lompoc Sales Tax Measure T was a ballot proposal to impose a new 1/2 cent sales tax in Lompoc, California.
It appeared on the [[February 5, 2008 ballot measures in California#sales tax|February 5, 2008 ballot]] in Santa Barbara County, and was defeated. It won 55.2% of the vote, but required a supermajority of 66.67% to win.
The ballot language said:
- "To increase the number of on-duty firefighters and police officers on patrol, to target gang violence and illegal drugs, retain experienced police and firefighters, improve 911 response times, purchase equipment and improve public safety facilities while maintaining while maintaining general fund expenditures for Police and Fire, shall the City enact a one-half cent sales tax, dedicated to improve public safety in Lompoc, with annual audits and citizen oversight?"
