This measure sought to re-establish the City's right to provide advanced services, telecommunication services and also cable television services. These services had been restricted by a revised state of the Colorado constitution.[2] Proponents of the measure noted that the city owns the infrastructure so it should be up to the city on how it is used. Though opponents said that the measure seems anti-competitive and may encourage the city pick what businesses they want to operate those services and drive away competition.[3]
