Ross ran unopposed in the August 2, 2011 primary election for Mississippi Senate District 21. Incumbent Kenneth Jones defeated challenger Franklin Mallett, Jr. in the Democratic primary. Ross lost to Jones in the general election on November 8, 2011. [2]
