The
Los Angeles Police Protective League is an organization set up to fight for Los Angeles police. As stated on their website, their mission is to "vigilantly protect, promote, and improve the working conditions, legal rights, compensation and benefits of Los Angeles Police Officers."
[1] The organization was started in 1922 when L.A. police and firefighters banned together to establish one retirement system for the City’s police officers and firefighters. In 1923 the Police and Fire Protective League was established, but separated into two entities in 1973. Now the league continues to fight for collective bargaining and police rights.
