Lou Gentile is a Democratic member of the Ohio State Senate, representing District 30. He has served in the chamber since his appointment in November 2011. Gentile replaced Jason Wilson (D) who was chosen by Gov. John Kasich (R) to head the Office of Appalachia.[1][2]

Gentile represented District 95 in the Ohio House of Representatives in 2011.

Biography

Gentile earned his Bachelor's degree from West Virginia University. He was a field representative for former Congressman Ted Strickland, and joined his campaign for governor as a special assistant. He later worked as an Assistant Director in the Governor’s Office of Appalachia.

Gentile won re-election in the 2012 election for Ohio Senate, District 30. Gentile was unopposed in the March 6 Democratic primary election and defeated Shane Thompson (R) in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012.[3]
