Louisiana Act 486 (2007) was on the October 20, 2007 statewide ballot in Louisiana as a legislatively-referred constitutional amendment to the Louisiana Constitution.

The amendment failed by a 56% majority.[1]

Had it passed, Act 486 would have exempted jewelry, held on consignment, from taxes.

Taxpayer's perspective

Constitutional Amendment 4 would widen the property tax exemption for consigned artworks to include jewelry as well.
