BATON ROUGE, Louisiana: The Louisiana Public Affairs Research Council has officially released their guide to understanding the two state amendments that will be on the October ballot. The purpose of this guide is to help voters in the state better understand what the two issues address, in simple non legal terms. State constitutional amendments are known to be confusing for those unfamiliar with legal terms and this published guide hopes to help residents do research before going to the polls and allow for a more informed vote. The Council produces guides for all state elections, there will be ten November amendments and the Council plans to publish a guide for that as well after the October election. State officials hope for better informed votes and this service offered by the Research Council helps lead to better understanding and more votes, it is hoped.[1]
