Federal offices
U.S. Senate
Major party candidates must pay a $600.00 filing fee.[1] They must also pay a $300.00 State Central Committee fee. In lieu of fees, a nominating petition with 5,000 signatures will be accepted. No less than 500 signatures must be collected from each of the state's congressional districts.[1]

Major party candidates for State Senate must pay a $300.00 filing fee.[1] They must also pay a $150.00 State Central Committee fee and a $150.00 Parish Executive Committee fee if accessed by the Parish committee. However, candidates may submit a 500 signature nominating petition in lieu of the filing fees.[1]
Third party candidates for State Senate must pay the $300.00 filing fee.[1] They are exempt from the State Central Committee fee and Parish Executive Committee fee, but have the option of submitting a 500 signature nominating petition in lieu of the filing fees.[1]
State House
Major party candidates for State House must pay a $225.00 filing fee.[1] They must also pay a $112.50 State Central Committee fee and a $112.50 Parish Executive Committee fee if accessed by the Parish committee. However, candidates may submit a 400 signature nominating petition.[1]
Third party candidates for State House must pay the $225.00 filing fee.[1] They are exempt from the State Central Committee fee and Parish Executive Committee fee, but have the option of submitting a 400 signature nominating petition in lieu of the filing fees.[1]
