A Lucerne Valley Unified Schools bond proposition, Measure S is on the June 8, 2010 ballot in the Lucerne Valley Unified School District in San Bernardino County, where it was defeated.[1]

Measure S would have authorized the district to incur new debt of $7.95 million, raising local property taxes by $60 per year per $100,000 of assessed property value in order to pay off the new debt.

MEASURE S: To continue improving the quality of education in local schools, by refunding certificates of participation, which financed school

facilities and equipment, shall the Lucerne Valley Unified School District issue $7,950,000 of bonds at legal interest rates, with independent citizens’ oversight and audits, and no money for salaries?
