Lynda Van Davis was a judge for the Orleans Parish Criminal District Court, Section B, in Orleans Parish, Louisiana. She was first elected to this position on November 15, 2003 and was re-elected on October 4, 2008.[1][2][3][4] Van Davis retired from the court on December 31, 2012.[5]

Education

Van Davis was born in June of 1971, in Duluth, MN. She received her B.S. degree from Ball State University in 1993 and her J.D. degree from the Indiana University School of Law in 1996.[6]

Career

Van Davis began her career in 1996 as a law clerk for Judge Arthur Hunter. The following year, she joined the Orleans Parish District Attorney's Office as an Assistant D.A. She then served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Louisiana from 2000 until she joined the District Court in 2003.[6]
