Lynn Montgomery

Lynn Montgomery is a member of the California Fair Political Practices Commission. She was appointed to the FPPC in June 2009 by Jerry Brown, the Attorney General of California, to a term that ends on January 31, 2013.[1]

Political biography

  • Montgomery was the FPPC's media director for about ten years.
  • She was a senior staffer under five different speakers of the California State Assembly, including Cruz Bustamante, Antonio Villaraigosa and Willie Brown.[2]
  • In 2003, Montgomery managed the gubernatorial campaign of then-Lt. Gov. Cruz Bustamante, a Democrat, in the Gray Davis recall (2003). Bustamante's campaign paid $263,000 -- one of the highest fines in FPPC history -- for accepting $3.8 million above legal limits in campaign contributions.[2]
