Mac Schneider is a Democratic member of the North Dakota State Senate, representing the 42nd district since 2008, and serving as Minority Leader in the 2013 legislative session. Schneider served as Assistant Minority Leader in the 2011-2012 legislative session.

Schneider has worked as a Staff Member for Earl Pomeroy.

Schneider earned his BA in History from the University of North Dakota in 2002. He went on to receive his JD in Law from Georgetown University. He is currently a student at the University of North Dakota Law.

Schneider ran in the 2012 election for North Dakota Senate District 42. Schneider ran unopposed in the Democratic primary on June 12. He defeated Ross Lien in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012.[2]
