Mackinaw Township Youth Programs Levy Implementation (March 2012)
This measure was defeated
- YES 335 (36.8%)
- NO 575 (63.2%)
This measure sought to implement a levy at a rate of .15 percent of assessed value to help pay for youth programs in the township. The Mackinaw Recreation Board was the organization which offers these programs and noted that their increased costs have led to this attempt to have their own source of revenue in order to ensure that services are still available. Township general funds and user fees are the current source of income for the sports programs.
