This measure sought to implement a levy at a rate of .15 percent of assessed value to help pay for youth programs in the township.[2] The Mackinaw Recreation Board was the organization which offers these programs and noted that their increased costs have led to this attempt to have their own source of revenue in order to ensure that services are still available. Township general funds and user fees are the current source of income for the sports programs.[3]

| Shall Mackinaw Township, Illinois be authorized to levy a new tax for service programs for youths under Section 215-5 of the Township Code purposes and have an additional tax of .15% of the equalized assessed value of the taxable property therein extended for such purposes? |
