Maine No Nuclear for Electricity Act (1982)
The Maine Nuclear for Electricity Initiative, appearing on the ballot as Measure 1, was on the November 2, 1982 ballot in Maine. It was defeated. It it has passed, it would have made it illegal for electricity to be generated through the use of nuclear power starting five years from the time of passage.
The question on the ballot was, "An Act to End the Use of Nuclear Power for Producing Electricity."
