The Maine Safety Belts Required for Four Years and Older Referendum, also known as Question 8, was on the November 7, 1995 ballot in Maine as a legislatively-referred state statute, where it was approved.[1] The measure required the wearing of seat belts in motor vehicles when a person four years or older is a passenger in the vehicle.[2][3]
