Current officeholder

Appointments
As outlined in Title 24-A, Chapter 3, §201 of the Maine Revised Statutes, the superintendent is appointed by the Governor of Maine and subject to review by legislative committee and confirmation by the Legislature.
Superintendents hold office for 5 years or until a successor is named.[3]
Duties
The superintendent of insurance is responsible for overseeing the Maine Bureau of Insurance, which regulates the insurance industry in the state.[3][4]
