This measure sought to renew the current levy which is set at a rate of 7.3 mills for a further five years in order to continue to pay for county and township needs and well as school needs in the county.[2]

Text of measure

The question on the ballot:

Shall separate tax limitations be established for a period of 5 years (2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016) or until altered by the voters of Manistee County for the County of Manistee and the Townships and Intermediate School Districts within the County, the aggregate of which shall not exceed 7.3 mills as follows? County of Manistee 5.5 mills; Townships 1.5 mills; Intermediate School District .3 mills.[3]
