Pacheco served in the Massachusetts House of Representatives from 1989 to 1992. He was a candidate for the United States House of Representatives, 9th District in 2001. Pacheco was also a member and chairman of Taunton School Committee; and a member of the Taunton Democratic City Committee.
Pacheco has served on the Northeast States Association for Agriculture Stewardship, the Taunton Fair Housing Commission, Growth and Change, Southeastern Massachusetts-Vision 2020, Massachusetts Democratic State Committee, and the Southeastern Massachusetts Legislative Caucus.
Biography
Pacheco earned his A.S. in Agronomy from the University of Massachusetts School of Agriculture in 1973, bachelor's degree in Human Services from New Hampshire College in 1986, and M.P.A. from Suffolk University in 1989. His professional experience includes working as department head of Taunton City from 1978 to 1981, budget director and chief assistant to the mayor of Taunton from 1982 to 1988, and appointive director for Federal Home Loan of Boston from 2002 to 2003.[1]

Pacheco won re-election in the 2012 election for Massachusetts State Senate First Plymouth and Bristol District. Pacheco was unopposed in the September 6 Democratic primary and was unopposed in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012.[2][3]
2010
Pacheco won re-election to the First Plymouth and Bristol District Seat in 2010. He had no primary opposition. David Pottier ran for the seat on the Republican ticket. The general election took place on November 2, 2010.

Pacheco was born and raised in Taunton, Massachusetts. He is married to Barbara Pacheco. Pacheco has been involved with a number of organizations, including the Taunton Lodge of Elks, United Way of Greater Taunton, National Environmental Policy Institute, National Democratic Leadership Council, New England District Export Council, and the Community Education Foundation. He was formerly involved with the James Madison Memorial Fellowship Foundation, Morton Hospital and Medical Center, and the Portuguese American Civic Club.
