Two Margaretta Township Fire & Road Levy Measures were on the March 6, 2012 ballot in the township of Margaretta which is in Erie County.

The first measure sought to renew the current fire levy which was set at a ate of $.20 per $100 of assessed property value for a further five years in order to continue to pay for fire protection and emergency services in the township.

Text of measure

The question on the ballot:

Issue 1: A renewal of a tax for the benefit of Margaretta Township for the purpose of fire protection and emergency medical services at a rate not exceeding 2 mills for each one dollar of valuation, which amounts to $0.20 for each one hundred dollars of valuation, for 5 years, commencing in 2012, first due in calendar year 2013.

Issue 2: An additional tax for the benefit of Margaretta Township for the purpose of general construction, reconstruction, resurfacing, and the repair of streets, roads, and bridges at a rate not exceeding 1 mill for each one dollar of valuation, which amounts to $0.10 for each one hundred dollars of valuation, for 5 years, commencing in 2012, first due in calendar year 2013.[3]
