Biography
Diaz-Balart was born in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. He attended the University of South Florida in Tampa where he studied Political Science before beginning his public service career as an aide to then City of Miami Mayor in 1985. [5]

Diaz Balart voted for the fiscal cliff compromise bill, which made permanent most of the Bush tax cuts originally passed in 2001 and 2003 while also raising tax rates on the highest income levels.
