Mark Willadsen (b. December 17, 1955) is a 2014 Republican candidate for District 11 of the South Dakota House of Representatives.[1]

Willadsen is a former Republican member of the South Dakota House of Representatives, representing District 11 from 2011 to 2013 and from 2004 to 2008.


Willadsen attended the University of South Dakota. His professional experience includes working as a service writer for Billion Chrysler Plymouth Datsun and an insurance agent for New York Life, Farmers Insurance Group and his own agency.

Elections for the office of South Dakota House of Representatives will take place in 2014. A primary election took place June 3, 2014. The general election will take place on November 4, 2014. The signature-filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was March 25, 2014. James Larson and Darrell Solberg were unopposed in the Democratic primary. Incumbent Jim Stalzer and Mark Willadsen defeated David Landry in the Republican primary. Larson will face Solberg, Stalzer and Willadsen in the general election.[1][2]

Willadsen ran in the 2012 election for South Dakota House of Representatives District 11. Willadsen and Chris Karr were defeated by Christine M. Erickson and Jim Stalzer in the Republican primary on June 5. Jim Larson and Darrell D. Solberg ran unopposed in the Democratic primary. The general election took place on November 6, 2012. Incumbent Lora Hubbel (R) is running for State Senate in District 11.[3][4]

Willadsen defeated incumbent Darrell Solberg (D) and Jim Larson (D) in the November 2 general election. Willadsen was elected along with fellow Republican challenger Lora Hubbel.[5] Willadsen defeated Chris Karr in the June 8 Republican primary, garnering 1,093 votes. Karr received 670 votes.
