Biography

Nakashima's professional experience includes working as a UniServ Director in Hilo for the Hawaii State Teachers Association from 2005-2008, and in West Hawaii from 1998-2005, as well as a Governance Specialist for the Hawaii State Teachers Association from 1995-1998, and Legislative Specialist from 1993-1994.[1]

Nakashima won re-election in the 2012 election for Hawaii House of Representatives District 1. He defeated Noralyn Bolosan Pajimola in the August 11 primary and ran unopposed in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012.[2]

Nakashima had no primary opposition in the Democratic primary election on September 18, 2010. Nakashima won re-election to the Hawaii House of Representatives District 1, defeating Eric D'Almeida (R) in the general election on November 2, 2010.[3]

On November 4, 2008, Nakashima won election to the Hawaii House of Representatives from Hawaii's 1st District, defeating Steven Offenbaker (R).
