Scappe ran in the 2012 election for Pennsylvania House District 44. Scappe ran unchallenged in the Democratic primary on April 24 and was defeated by incumbent Mark Mustio (R) in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012.[1]

Personal

Scappe is the grandson of Italian immigrants (his surname was Anglicised from Schiappa). He and his wife Cindy have two sons.[2]
