Mark Taddiken is a former Republican member of the Kansas State Senate, representing District 21 from 2001 to 2013. He has also been a member of the Clay County Extension Council since 1997.

The purpose of the Index "is to identify Kansas legislators who vote in favor of economic freedom — and those who don’t."[12] Legislators receive a rating from 0-100 percent based on their votes on bills promoting economic freedom.
