Elections
2012
Gearheart won re-election in the 2012 election for West Virginia House of Delegates, District 27. Gearheart advanced unopposed in the May 8 primary election and won re-election in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012.[2][3][4]
2010
Gearheart was elected to the West Virginia State Senate District 10. He was nominated by the Republican committee to run for the vacated seat of John Shott, who was appointed to the West Virginia State Senate District 10 seat vacated by the deceased Senator Caruth. In a last minute move, the committee nominated Gearheart, rather than the appointee Shott to run in the November 2, 2010 election. He ran unopposed.[5][6][7]
