Pro-Life was an Independent candidate for Governor of Idaho in the 2014 elections.[1] Pro-Life (Marvin Thomas Richardson) lost the general election on November 4, 2014.

He previously sought the governor's office in 2010, losing to current incumbent Republican Gov. Butch Otter in the general election on November 2, 2010.

Pro-Life most recently ran for political office in 2012 as an Independent candidate for U.S. House representing the 1st Congressional District of Idaho. Pro-Life lost to incumbent Raul Labrador (R) in the general election on November 6, 2012.[2]

He changed his middle name to "Pro-Life" in 2004 and runs for election under that name.[1]


Pro-Life was born as Marvin Thomas Richardson on August 5, 1941, in Carbon County, Wyoming. After graduating from high school, Richardson served as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Arizona, California and Nevada from 1962 to 1964. He resigned from the church in 1998 because the church did not recognize personhood rights for "preborn children." His professional career included stints as a strawberry farmer in Colorado and a Caterpillar dealer in Nevada.[1]

Pro-Life ran in the 2012 election for the U.S. House to represent Idaho's 1st District. Pro-Life ran as an Independent candidate. He faced Jimmy Farris (D), incumbent Raul Labrador (R) and Rob Oates (L) in the general election on November 6, 2012. He was defeated by incumbent Raul Labrador.[3]
