Mary Ann Handley is a Democratic member of the Connecticut Senate, representing District 4.
Education
Handley attended Wesleyan University, the University of London, and University College. She went on to receive her BA from Connecticut College. She then earned her MA from the University of Connecticut.
Professional experience
Handley was a Professor of History at Manchester Community College from 1967 to 1997. She is now retired.
Political experience
Handley was on the Manchester Board of Directors from 1987 to 1989. She then served as Deputy Mayor of Manchester from 1991 to 1996. She joined the Connecticut State Senate in 1997 and has served in that position since. She is currently Chief Deputy Majority Leader, representing the 4th district.
