Mary Ekstrom (b. November 11, 1951) was a Democratic-NPL member of the North Dakota House of Representatives. She represented the 11th District from 1998-2010. Ekstrom has also been a candidate for North Dakota State Auditor in 2000 and volunteered in the Robert Kennedy Presidential Campaign and in the Democratic Party in both Baltimore, Maryland and Richmond, Virginia.

Ekstrom is the office manager of Hanson Runsvold Funeral Home. She was the owner and designer of Ekstrom & Associates Architects & Planners from 1975-2005 and has been an Alumni Coordinator for North Dakota State University, Department of Architecture and Landscape Architect since 2005.

Ekstrom is widowed and has three children; Lisa, Rik, and Ingrid.[1]

In February 2010, Ekstrom announced that she would not be running for re-election. She stated that it's become too difficult to manage her job as an office manager for a funeral home with serving in the legislature.[2]

On November 7, 2000, Robert Peterson won re-election to the office of North Dakota State Auditor. He defeated Mary Ekstrom in the general election.
