Shipley ran in the 2012 election for Arkansas House of Representatives, District 55. Shipley and Monte Hodges defeated Joe Guy and Effie Collins in the May 22 Democratic primary. Shipley was then defeated by Hodges in the June 12, 2012, primary runoff election.[1][2][3][4]
