There was a Marysville School District Replacement Levy measure on the February 9 ballot in Snohomish County for voters in the Marysville school district.

This measure was approved

  • YES 7,572 (57.16%)Approveda
  • NO 5,675 (42.84%)[1]

This measure sought to renew an existing levy that was set to expire in order to further funding school programs and operation costs in the district. The levy will be in place for a further four years and will be at a rate of $3.15 per $1,000 of assessed value. [2]

Strong defense had come out in favor of this measure, most notably those in the district that feel that the school system can only survive if the tax measure is renewed. The measure does not raise taxes, only would continue the current levy rate that is in place. The money from this levy provides all different aspects of learning and program support that is not funded by the state.[3]
