A Mason School District Property Tax Increase measure was on the November 2, 2010 ballot in the school district of Mason which is in both Butler and Warren Counties.

This measure was defeated

  • YES 8,241 (46.73%)
  • NO 9,394 (53.27%)Defeatedd[1]

This measure sought to add an incremental property tax, over a three year period, to local property taxes. The rate of the levy had not been determined by the school yet, the first public hearing on the proposed issue was held on June 7 to get resident's thoughts on the issue. The purpose behind the proposed levy was budget shortfalls and decreased state funds, the school district would like to maintain the current rate of programs and saw asking for this levy as the most viable means to do so.[2]
