Collins ran in the 2012 election for Kansas House of Representatives District 84. He was defeated by incumbent Gail Finney in the August 7 Democratic primary. Dan Heflin ran unopposed in the Republican primary. Gordon Bakken is the Libertarian candidate. The general election took place on November 6, 2012.[1]
