Greene ran in the 2012 election for Idaho State Senate District 13. He ran unopposed in the Democratic primary on May 15 and was defeated by Curt McKenzie (R) in the November 6 general election. Incumbent Patti Anne Lodge (R) ran in District 11.[1][2]
