McCloud Community Services District parcel tax, Measure T (November 2008)
Measure T is a parcel tax authorization measure at varying rates depending upon the classification of each parcel of real property subject to the special tax. There are six classification categories. The basic idea is to charge $152.98 per Housing Equivalent (HE).
In 1997, voters of the district had approved a parcel tax of $64.32 per parcel with multiples of the $64.32 tax rate charged for multi-family residential and commercial properties to fund fire and ambulance services. At the time of the vote on Measure T in 2008, the fire department, emergency response and ambulance services had been running at a budget deficit of around $33,800/year for several years.
