A Mercer County Nursing Home Sale Question was on the March 20, 2012 ballot in Mercer County.

This measure was approved

YES 2,491 (66.5%)a
NO 1,255 (33.5%)^[1]

This measure sought to allow the county to sell the Mercer County Nursing Home to Genesis Health Systems. Since it was approved, Genesis will buy the nursing home for $1.75 million and had already stated that they would make about $1 million in capital improvements to the current facility. The group already manages the nursing home for the past year, they also manage the county hospital. The sale will also ease some county taxes as residents would no longer be paying into their retirement fund.^[2]
