Mercer Island School District Levy Additions, 3 (February 2010)

There were three Mercer Island School District Levy Addition measures on the February 9 ballot in King County for voters in the Mercer Island school district.

All three off these measure were approved
Proposition 1

Proposition 3

The first measure sought renew a levy that will expire, the money from this levy is used for maintenance and operation costs. The levy will be in the amount of $1.41 per $1,000 of assessed property value for a further four years.[2]

The second measure sought to add an additional levy to the current one, this money will be used for capital projects in the district, namely remodeling and modernizing facilities. The levy will be at a rate of $.27 per $1,000 of assessed property value and will increase to $.50 in the third year, lasting a total of six years.[3]

The third measure sought to add an additional $.06 to the existing property tax for one year in order to help fund the buying of a new school buses for the district.[4]
