Merlin Bartz (b. March 16, 1961) is a Republican member of the Iowa Senate, representing District 6.
Education
Bartz earned his BA from Luther College in 1983.
Professional experience
Bartz has worked in the following positions: Livestock and Grain Farming, Grafton Industries, David Manufacturing Company, Special Assistant to the Under Secretary for Natural Resources and Environment for the United States Department of Agriculture, and Central Region Assistant Chief for the Natural Resources Conservation Service.
Political experience
Bartz served in the Iowa State House of Representatives from 1991 to 1992. He then served in the Iowa State Senate from 1992 to 2002 and again from 2008 to the present. He is a former Assistant Majority Leader and currently represents the 6th district.
