The Merrill Area Public Schools Referendum was a school bond brought to the April 7 ballot by the school board in the Merrill Area School District which is in Lincoln County. The measure sought to exceed state-set revenue limits by $2,125,000 over three years and every year thereafter. The additional funds would be used to pay for basic recurring operational costs.
On February 19, 2008 the school board asked voters to approve a $2.9 million referendum. It was rejected by 71 percent of voters.[1]
