A Merrill City Downtown Development Advisory Question was on the November 2, 2010 ballot in the city of Merrill, which is in Lincoln County.

This measure was defeated

  • YES 1,480 (45.38%)
  • NO 1,781 (54.62%)Defeatedd[1]

This measure was an advisory question which asked city residents if they wanted to allow the city to further develop outside of the downtown area. City officials had planned further development but a citizen petition gathered enough signatures to get the issue on to the ballot. Though city officials felt that most citizens were not in favor of further development, this issue was only advisory so city officials could still proceed. Opponents felt that there was not enough money to establish further developments, but proponents felt that more development would help the city in hard economic times.[2]
