Miami City Sales Tax Increase (July 2010)

A Miami City Sales Tax Increase measure was on the July 27, 2010 ballot in the city of Miami which is in Ottawa County.

This measure was approved

  • YES 1,572 (70%) Approveda
  • NO 676 (30%)[1]

This measure sought to add an additional .65 percent onto the current sales tax, raising it to 3.65 percent and making the overall sales tax with state rate included would be 9.5 percent. The increased money will be used for street repairs throughout the city. The city also held meetings to better inform residents on the issue.[2]
