Michael L. Gates is a Civil Division judge of the 17th Judicial Circuit Court in Florida. He was appointed to a newly-created position by former Governor Jeb Bush in December of 2001, effective Jan. 2. He ran unopposed and was retained in 2010 to a six-year term that ends on January 2, 2017.[1][2][3][4]

Education

Gates received his J.D. degree from the University of Miami in 1976.[2]

Career

Gates was a partner in the law firm of Kaplan, Jaffe & Gates from 1976 until he was appointed to the circuit court at the end of 2001.[2]

2010 election

Gates ran unopposed and was automatically retained to a new term.[3]
