Lawlor is Counsel with Giordano Associates Incorporated, Associate Professor of Criminal Justice at the University of New Haven, and a Practitioner in Residence at the University of New Haven. 2008
On November 4, 2008, Lawlor won re-election to the Connecticut House of Representatives from Connecticut's 99th District, defeating Lori Musco (R). Lawlor received 5,674 votes in the election while Musco received 3,399 votes.[4] Lawlor raised $28,512 for his campaign; Musco raised $29,260.[5]
