Nofs' professional experiences include post commander for Michigan State Police, Battle Creek; trooper with Michigan State Police, Battle Creek; deputy with Calhoun County Sheriff Department; police officer and patrolman with Marshall City Police Department; and cadet with the Battle Creek City Police Department.
Nofs earned his AAs in criminal justice from Kellogg Community College and his BA in management in human resources from Spring Arbor University.
On November 4, 2009, Nofs won the election for Michigan Senate to replace Mark Schauer when he was elected to Congress. Nofs will fulfill Schauer's term and then have to run again in 2010 for a four year term.[1]
