Michael Opitz was a 2012 Republican candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 11th Congressional District of Georgia.

Biography

He earned a bachelor's in English literature from Auburn University and a master's in psychology with an emphasis in organization development from the University of West Georgia.[1]

Career

Opitz is retired from Lucent Technologies/AT&T and now is a Georgia Registered Mediator and Arbitrator for civil and business disputes.[1]

Opitz ran in the 2012 election for the U.S. House to represent Georgia's 11th District. Opitz sought the nomination on the Republican ticket.[2] Candidates wishing to run were required to file by the signature filing deadline of May 25, 2012. The primary elections were held on July 31, 2012. He was defeated.[3]
