Wilson was a candidate for the 2011 Republican Party nomination for District 39 of the New Jersey General Assembly. Wilson was bracketed with Sara Adele Higgins in the June 7 primary. Higgins was removed from the ballot when her candidacy was found invalid by the Secretary of State's office in late April. Charlotte Vandervalk and Robert Schroeder are also running bracketed in the GOP primary. The top-two voter getters will advance to the general election on November 8, 2011.[2]
