Vasilinda worked as a DER Key Coordinator for the United Way Campaign from 1986-1988, and has been an educator at Tallahassee Community College.
She is a member of the Tallahasse Branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, United Faculty of Florida Union, and Tallahassee Chapter of the Zonta International Women's Service Organization. [1]

Vasilinda won election in the 2012 election for Florida House of Representatives District 9. Vasilinda ran unopposed in the Democratic primary on August 14, 2012, and defeated Bradley Maxwell (R) in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012. [3]

Vasilinda won re-election to the 9th District seat in 2010. She defeated Kirk Headley-Perdue (R) in the general election on November 2, 2010.[4]

On November 4, 2008, Vasilinda won election to the Florida House of Representatives from Florida's 9th District, defeating Peter Boulware (R) and John Shaw (NPA). Vasilinda received 41,362 votes in the election while Boulware received 40,932 votes, and Shaw received 2,808 votes.[6] Vasilinda raised $198,198 for her campaign; Boulware raised $566,388, and Shaw raised $2,585.[7]
