The Michigan Fracking Ban Initiative will not appear on the November 2014 statewide ballot in Michigan as an initiated state statute. The measure, upon voter approval, would have prohibited the use of horizontal hydraulic fracturing, also known as "fracking," in Michigan.
Proponents stated that they will attempt a fracking ban petition drive again to get the measure on the 2016 ballot.
The Committee to Ban Fracking in Michigan sponsored the measure.
