Two Middleport Village Current & Police Levy Measures were on the March 6, 2012 ballot in the village of Middleport which is in Meigs County.

The first measure sought to renew the current expenses levy which is set at a rate of $.30 per $100 of assessed property value for a period of five years in order to continue to pay for current expenses in the village.

The question on the ballot:

Question 1: A renewal of a tax for the benefit of Middleport Village for the purpose of Current Expenses at a rate not exceeding 3 mills for each one dollar of valuation, which amounts to thirty cents ($0.30) for each one hundred dollars of valuation, for five (5) years, commencing in 2012, first due in calendar year 2013.

Question 2: An additional tax for the benefit of Middleport Village for the purpose of Police Protection at a rate not exceeding 2 mills for each one dollar of valuation, which amounts to twenty cents ($0.20) for each one hundred dollars of valuation, for five (5) years, commencing in 2012, first due in calendar year 2013.[3]
