Mike Chaney (Republican Party) is the Mississippi Commissioner of Insurance. He assumed office in 2008. His current term ends on January 6, 2028.
Chaney (Republican Party) ran for re-election for Mississippi Commissioner of Insurance. He won in the general election on November 7, 2023.
Biography
Chaney served in the Mississippi House of Representatives from 1993 to 1999 and in the Mississippi State Senate from 2000 to 2008. He was elected as Insurance Commissioner in 2007.
Chaney is a member of the Rotary Club and the National Association of Insurance Commissioners.[1]

In his current position as insurance commissioner, Chaney executes all laws related to insurance companies, corporations, associations and fraternal orders, their agents and adjusters. In addition he also serves as State Fire Marshal and administers the Mississippi Fire Prevention Code.

2015
Eleven state executive offices in Mississippi were up for election in 2015. The general election was held on November 3, 2015, following a primary election on August 4, 2015. Runoffs were scheduled for August 25 in case no candidate received a majority (50 percent plus one) of the popular vote in a given primary race.
Chaney defeated John Mosley in the Republican primary and ran unopposed in the general election.[2][3]
