An effort to recall Mike Fahey, the mayor of Omaha, Nebraska, failed in April 2008 when not enough signatures were collected to force a recall election.[1]
For the recall effort to have succeeded, organizers would have had to collect about 22,000 signatures in 30 days.
They collected a little over 8,000, working as volunteers.
In the wake of recall effort, Fahey is re-considering his future electoral plans.[2]
